On December 22, Vietnam's first batch of hybrid off-highway mining trucks, the SANY SKT130S, was delivered to one of Vietnam's largest mining contractors.
The delivery is a milestone for SANY's hybrid mining equipment in the Southeast Asian market. As hybrid off-highway mining trucks, the SKT130S units are designed to lower fuel consumption and emissions compared with conventional diesel mining trucks, and will support the contractor's daily haulage operations at its mining sites.
SANY continues to expand its mining equipment footprint in Vietnam, working together with local partners to deliver efficient, reliable and more sustainable solutions for the country's mining industry. The local team will provide operation, maintenance and parts support to keep the new fleet running at high utilization.
Vietnamese mines are trialing hybrids before going fully electric, because fuel savings appear immediately while charging networks are still thin. Hybrid haulers fit existing workflows almost unchanged, which makes them a practical, low-risk step toward lower-emission mining operations.
