Two SANY SKT90E pure electric off-highway mining trucks, supplied by Irmen Maquinas, have been delivered to Hydro Paragominas, the bauxite mining company in Brazil. The delivery supports Hydro Paragominas' decarbonization strategy toward 2030.
The SKT90E is SANY's battery-electric mining truck designed for off-highway haulage at mining sites. By replacing diesel trucks with electric units, the bauxite operator can reduce emissions at the mine, aligning with Hydro Paragominas' commitment to cut the carbon footprint of its mining operations by 2030.
The trucks were supplied by Irmen Maquinas, SANY's local partner in Brazil, which will continue to support the delivered fleet with local service and spare parts. The delivery represents a further step in SANY's electrification push across Latin America's mining sector, offering customers cleaner and more efficient mining equipment.
Bauxite producers face growing investor pressure to cut emissions across their operations. Replacing diesel trucks on fixed pit loops is one of the fastest available levers, and it pairs naturally with local service partners who keep batteries and chargers maintained between shifts.
