The SANY STR series is the heavy-tunneling arm of the roadheader family, built for longer, continuous drives in coal, semi-coal and rock seams. Two models — STR260/5 and STR318/5 — cover the mid-to-heavy heading class.
Cutting motor power is 260 kW on the STR260/5 and 318 kW on the STR318/5, with total system power of 467 kW and 570 kW respectively and operating weights of 80–115 t. Both share the STR platform's efficient loading and conveying, high-reliability hydraulics, intelligent electric control, automatic cable winding and centralised lubrication, engineered for headings 3.6–6.8 m wide.
