Concrete Pumping for the OMO2 Sugar Factory in the Omo-Gibe Valley
Long-boom pump trucks placed concrete for one of East Africa's largest cane-processing plants, working at 56 m to 62.1 m reach in the Omo-Gibe valley.
Building A Large-Scale Sugar Plant
Set in Ethiopia's Omo-Gibe valley, the OMO2 Sugar Factory is a flagship agro-industrial investment. Its 12,000-tonne-per-day processing line yields VPH (very high polarization) sugar alongside white sugar, serving domestic demand and wider regional markets.
COMPLANT delivered the complex on an EPC basis, with design by GDE. Plants of this size mean dense reinforced-concrete frames, deep piled foundations and elevated structures, all of which put heavy and continuous demands on concrete delivery and placing gear.
The concrete package was awarded to truck-mounted pumps. Their extended booms let crews pour across wide structures without re-staking the truck repeatedly, protecting the industrial complex's tight schedule.

SANY Truck-Mounted Concrete Pumps
Three pump truck models covering 56 m to 62.1 m boom reach for the plant's structures.
SYG5445THB 560C-10
56 m boom, output up to 200 m³/h (high-pressure circuit 137 m³/h) at concrete pressures of 8.3 / 12 MPa — the lead pump truck on site.
SYG5450THB 560C-10 SZ-EU
56 m boom pump truck, European-specification variant with output of 172 m³/h and 8.3 MPa circuit pressure.
SYG5521THB 630S
62.1 m boom — the longest reach on the project — with output up to 200 m³/h (137 m³/h) and 8.3 / 12 MPa pressure circuits.
EPC contractor: COMPLANT. Design: GDE. The pump fleet handled concrete placement across the factory's processing and structural buildings.
